The GMAT or the Graduate Management Admission Test is a test to measure the student’s ability in English, mathematics, and critical thinking skills. GMAT is an aptitude test that includes a Verbal, Quantitative, and an Analytical Writing Assessment section. Therefore the GMAT score is a mandatory requirement for application for a master’s degree program i.e. MBA, M.S. Marketing, M.S. Finance. Some institutions in Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Canada, and Thailand require the GMAT score for admission. ACT, which is a world renowned body that develops computer-based tests is responsible for developing the GMAT, while Pearson VUE which is a leading test management system runs the testing sessions. Currently there are many testing sessions outside the United States. You can register for the GMAT through online or by phone, or the Pearson VUE run test which is a computer-based test only (Computer-Adaptive), no paper-based tests are offered through Pearson VUE. ***GMAT scores can be kept for use 5 years after it is taken.
